It's Been A Very Long Time

I can't even believe the last time I posted it was October and now we are days away from closing out the year! :( This year has brought me the most amazing gift my little man, my son, my Masey, the love of my life :)

So I just want to give you a fast recap of my life and what's been happening....

well of course the main reason for my not posting is because I went back to work and with a new baby it's almost impossible to get free time to post. (right now the hubby and I are on vacation, so he is watching him while I quickly write this)

All About Mason: Currently 16 lbs /26inches

He still doesn't sleep through the night

He is now on Alimentum do to an a milk allergy

He wears 6 months clothes

He has started Cereal and tried Carrots and Peas

He holds his own bottle most of the time

He laughs (screams), baby talk, makes bubbles

Can grab anything in front of him

Can sit up pretty good, if he is on an angle he can sit himself up

Loves to stand up on your lap

He hates getting dress, prefers to be naked

He was able to tear open his christmas presents and eat the paper

Wears a size two diaper

Starting to recognize his name

Only smiles if he knows you, other wise he makes a face like who the "F" are you

Very serious with others

Loves anything that lights up and makes noise (phone,tv, swing)

Loves to put his feet in his mouth

My new born bundle is already a 2 month baby, I miss holding him with out him wiggling around, I miss his sweet new born cries, I miss putting him in his tiny little clothes and swading him like a burrito.... But I love seeing him grow and expolore everything so I'm cherishing ever minute that I am with him, he is my everything!!

About Mason at 2 months

Stats: 12 lbs 24 inches wearing 0-3 some 3-6

You drink anywhere from 3-5 oz mostly 3 oz Ever 2 hours during the day longer periods at night

You are back on similac regular because you are constipated, doc has instructed us to give you suppository if you don't poop and give you one teaspoonon karo syrup with two oz of water 3 times a day

You are in size one diapers

You found your hand and now you are constantly sucking on both of them

When it's time for sleep you still sleep on your stomach and toss your head back and fourth for about 10 mins until you finally get comfortable

You are now socially smiling and love when me and grandma makes crazy baby noises. You have the cutest smile that warms my heart ...you slightly wrinkle your noise, smile, stick your tongue out and wave your arms and legs in excitement.

You still have the cutest cry I've ever heard

We tried your bumbo and at first you smiled but then realized you hated it

You still love bath time and hate getting out

You cry to be picked up

You loved to held and rocked to sleep

You still get the hiccups during diaper changes

We love to dress you in your jeans, sweaters and shoes

You were baptized on September 18th 2011, it was a beautiful ceremony and all of your family witnessed this beatiful day

You are getting better and better at night

My 12 week maternity leave is quickly coming to a close and I can't even imagine what it's going to feel like going back to work and leaving you all day :(

Daddy still has a hard time leaving you to go to work and he when he gets home he quickly grabs you, hugs you and kisses you all over

You love to look into the light and watch tv

Flying Poop

I knew as soon as this happened that I had to blog about it because I could not stop laughing lol so here goes. ( hopefully this story makes some kind of sense and I'm sure there are going to be thousansd of grammatical errors due to lack of sleep so just ignore them and read the story haha lol)

Well let me start off by saying that Mason's poop is hard like pebbles because he has been constipated.

The other night Mason wakes up crying for food so I grab him out of his pack and play and put him In my Arms and feed him, he finishes his bottle and then I change his diaper quickly and cautiously so I don't get peed on, but this night was different lol. As I'm changing his diaper (practically the dark with the exception of the light shining from the monitor) I open his diaper and check for poop, nothing ( as I expected since he has been constipated), I pull his diaper from underneath him (little did I know a turd flew into my shirt lmfao)wipe him up and place a clean diaper on him, I button up his pajamas pick him back up and rock him to sleep ( again as any normal night). After about 10-15 mins he is finally asleep and I put him back in his pack and play... After placing him down I start settling back to sleep, as soon as I put my head down on my pillow and turn on my side I feel something wet and cold in my shirt against my boobies lol ... With caution I put my hand down my shirt and feel something funny so I freak out as if there was a bug in my shirt and I flung whatever it was out ... Ewe finally it was out but at that very moment I realized I didn't know where the hell it went, so I quickly grabbed my phone turned it on and began waving it like a flash light in front of me looking for whatever it was ... Finally I wave my phone in front of the hubs face and there it was a small turd that landed so perfectly on the top of his forehead with out waking him up lmao no I am not kidding hahaha at that very moment I slowly removed it from his forehead trying hard not to wake him, once I successfully removed it from his forehead all I could do was laugh and replay it over and over again. I also started rehearsing it in my head so I could tell him the funniest way possible lol oh how I couldn't wait to tell him the story when he woke up!!!

A couple of hours later he wakes up for work (I barely slept thinking about how he would react) , I let him get into the shower and when he came back into the room I begin to tell him how poop flew into my shirt and I got scared and flung it out... lol then he starts laughing at me and says are you serious that's disgusting as if that was the funniest part of the story, so I quickly interrupt him and say but wait that wasn't even the best part and then he responds why what happen? lol I answered we'll after I flung it out of my shirt I started looking for it with my phone and I found it sitting on top of your forehead !!!! He looked at me in shock and at that moment it didn't seem so funny after all, haha jokes on you. I couldnt help but laugh out loud because it played out so perfectly as I had reheasred it in my head all night lol... Insert evil laugh!!

1 Month Old

I can't believe that Mason is already a month old, it makes me sad to think that I only have a couple more weeks with him at home before I go back to work and he is growing so quickly but I am excited to see him develop. Every time I look at my precious little boy all I do is smile and thank God for bringing him into my life

Little things to know about Mason:

He hiccups at almost every diaper change or when he's cold
He's already peed on Me, The hubs and his Grandma's
We've tired letting him sleep in his pack and play, car seat, bed sleeper, bouncy chair, swing
He does a lot of monster noises
He doesn't like to be moved/ touched if he's asleep in your arms
He has a lot of gas ( sounds like a grown man farting)
He drinks about 2-3 oz of Sensitive Simalic
He's gets really bad tummy aches and cries until he poops :(
He's very ticklish on his feet, neck and back
Knocks out on car rides or if he's in his stroller
He likes to fall asleep in anyone arms
He likes to sleep all day and has nights and days confused
He likes his baths but hates when he's cold
Mason's only been here a month and has already experienced a Earthquake and Hurricane in the same week

One month check up: 10.1 oz and 22 inches long

Birth Story Part 2

Hospital: LONG LONG POST

Finally the hubs catches up to me in the Labor and Delivery hallway as I sign my life away lol okay maybe I’m exaggerating a bit ... I then get called into the Triage by a nurse named Sue (maybe) who instructs me to remove all my clothes and get into a gown... so I quickly removed my gown that I could jump in the bed to help relieve some of the pain. She soon returns and begins to hook me up too all the monitors and checks my vitals, I start giving her the run down about how I had been feeling so on and so fourth pausing and tightly shutting my eyes between each contraction, which lead her to ask if I had taken an child birth class I answered “yes.” She begins to say okay well remember what the teacher said "find a focal point and stare at it and breathe in and out" so I slowly begin to open my eyes and she points... "Okay look at that red dot on the T.V and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth" but all I could think is bitch can you just shut up and let me tense up, close my eyes, grip the bed, clinch my jaw and arch my back so this contraction can end!!!!!!!!! lmao!!! There's no way hell I was going to focus on a red dot when I felt a contraction but nurse Sue wasn't having it and with my luck she entered every time I was having one, almost like she timed her entrance so she could catch me in "THE ACT."

Finally, a resident comes in to ask me a million and one questions about my life as she scribbles each answer down on a folded piece of paper that had a million other notes on it from her other patients. After being interrogated for at least 30 mins she mentions that a senior resident would be coming out to do an internal...not long after see enters in the room with a senior resident to begin my internal at that point I was hoping that I had dilated enough to be admitted because I knew that this had to be real labor...once the resident checks me the senior resident asks me when my last internal was and if was dilated at the time I quickly answered "Friday and I wasn't dilated, effaced, thinned out NOTHING"!! She then dives right in and does an internal herself, (great I have to get it twice) she pushes and presses around and then says "your about 2-3 cm," I was in total shock thinking wow just Friday I was NOTHING and now I'm 2-3cm... Quickly she shoots me down by saying, "you could be 2-3cm for about a week or 2 if this isn't real labor but let me call your doctor and see what she wants to do" thanks just what I wanted to hear.

After waiting sometime a new nurse Christina comes back in with instructions from my doctor to walk around for 2 hours (5pm) and then they would check me again to see if I had progressed! Sounds like a plan as long as I wasn't going home....although my next thought was damn 2 hours is a long time to walk the hall in a circle. Nurse Christina then begins to unplug from all the machines and the hubs and I are off to walk the halls, little did I know that the contractions would pick up so quickly and intensify. All I wanted to do was crawl right back into the bed and stare at the red dot on the T.V lol but I had 2 hours. I circled the floors starting a contraction at almost the same spot every time, I would hunch over and sway my hips back and fourth while it felt like I was being stabbed with knives at this point the pain was almost intolerable but 2 hours definitely hadn't passed by. Out of no where I see Christina my nurse who says "we are actually going to check you in about another half hour so come back here at 4:15pm .... Thank God because at that point I almost couldn't take it anymore! At that point each lap I thought “you can do this a couple more mins”....finally it was 4:15pm and the nurse meets me in the hallway and we go back to the room. Senior resident walks in and checks me again... all I could do was pray I was at 4cm so I could be admitted and she says it "your 4cm, we are going to admit you and your going to be having your baby"! At that point I was in shock that I would really be having this baby today!!!

The hubs starts calling my mom, sister and his mom who were so impatiently waiting at my mothers house to hear whether I was going to be having the baby today. This was it no turning back, all that complaining I did the past month was going to come to an end and I would be leaving with my baby.

After some time passed (no sense of time at this point) nurse Christina got me ready to move over to the room that I would actually be delivering in... I shuffled my way into the room across the hall that I passed about 400 times. Having a contraction at the door I paused and hunched over in pain …all I wanted to do was lay down!!!!!! I finally reached my bed and laid there while she hooked me and the baby back up to monitors, I was set up and ready as she got the room ready she offered me ice chips at this point it was all I could eat so I said sure...remember I hadn't eaten since Burger King that morning. Christina came back in the room and handed me a cup of ice chips I slowly munched on the tiniest piece of ice when all hell broke loose and I began to puke on myself from the pain of each contractions, the hubs ran and got the nurse to tell her that I need to be changed because I had puked everywhere, poor Christina I felt so bad that she had to pick that shit up because it wasn't very pleasant!! At that point I was sitting on the edge of the bed while Christina cleaned me up and all I could do was continue to puke from the pain!!! After I was cleaned up and back in bed hub ask "what the hell did you eat because that shit was nasty" I giggled and said Burger King breakfast lol all I could feel was the acid in my throat from the oj!

At that point I knew that if I didn't have pain meds soon I would be puking all the way thru labor and it was going to be very ugly, so I asked nurse Christina if I could please have the epi and she said sure. I didn't know how long it would be before they would come so I figured let just ask for it now. At this time (still have no sense of time) my mother, sister and mother-in-law had arrived, so hubs went to get my mother who would be in the room with me while I delivered the baby. As she walked into the room she came around with a nervous look on her face and started asking me 100 questions of course I was having a contraction so I yelled to her "I'LL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS WHEN IT OVER" lol poor mommy stepped back and said okay okay sorry! After the contraction was over I began to explain to her that I puked all over myself and how I felt bad for the nurse and so on.

7pm Soon after or what felt like soon after my mom arrived a team of anestheologist came in the room to prep for my epi... only one person could stay in the room so my mother decided to step out and let the hubs help me while I received my epi. I was asked to set on the edge of the bed which was almost impossible because of the pain but I managed to scoot over on to the edge, during the epi process the contractions were there but all my attention was put to the "student" anesthesiologist who seemed like he had never placed an epi before and all I could think of is this guy better not fuck up!!! I sat there as still and relaxed as I could but it wasn't easy to arch my back and open up my spine so that they could place whatever they placed in my back, after about 30 mins of pressure, tugging and pushing it was over ( really not that bad) and now the "student" called out numbers to the anesthesiologist referring to how much medication he should give me and she says no that's to much you have the numbers backward, my thought was great dude now go ahead and kill me ! Within minutes my feet and legs started to tingle but I could still wiggle my toes and lift my right leg( my left leg was out lol). Let me tell you that epi was the best thing I could have ever done, at that point I was checked and was 5 cm dilated so that decided they would let an hour go by and check me again to see if I had progressed if not they would break my water and start me on pitocin. So 8 o clock roll around I feel like a brand new person and the doctor comes in to check me and find that I'm about 6 cm dilated so she decides to break my water ( which wasn't bad at all) and start me on the pitocin for a little while to make sure my contractions don't slow down or stop because of the epi. After all that was done I felt like I laid around for hours trying to go to sleep but I couldn't get my brain to slow down and relax because I started to fear the delivery and what it would be like, my mom reassured me a thousand times that everything would be okay.

As I laid around for hours (4-5 hours) I couldn't feel much change in pressure but was told by nurse Laura (?) that once I started to feel like I was going to have a bowel movement and a lot pressure to let her know so she could call the doctor over, so I let her know that I had felt like I needed to use the bathroom but the pressure wasn't bad. She called over the doctor and she came in to do the internal and at the point she tells me that I am 10 cm and could start to try pushing if I wanted to. I was in complete shock because I was so comfortable and not in any pain that this could actually be it, so I agreed to start pushing even though I was super nervous. The doctor and nurse both said that it would be a quick delivery, at that point I thought sure that's what you tell everyone. So I did one practice push and the nurse said she could see his head, I was amazed that she could actually see his head already that it motivated me to get the energy to push him out. So after about 4 contraction/12 pushes a15 mins baby Mason was laying on my stomach as I laid there in awe and amazed that it was over and I finally had my little boy (12:58am)...I couldn't really see his face because of the way they laid him on me but I sure saw his odd shaped head and thought oh no lol ... I looked over and my mother and hubs who were crying and all I could say was how cool the whole experience was and the feeling of actually giving birth to another human being and it still amazes me !!! It was overall an amazing experience and I am thankful for such an easy labor that I would do it all over again :) (Not to soon though)

My little Mason is the most percious little boy ever!!

He is quite and peaceful baby (its because he was born into such a peaceful environment lol)

I love him more then anyting and I am blessed to have him in my life <3

Birth Story Part 1

At the Home and Mall :

So Monday, August 1st 4:00 am I woke up in the middle of the night for my regular trip to the bathroom, I peed and quickly made it back to bed to try and get back to sleep ...knowing that if I took to long I would be up the rest of the morning. Well, my body had other plans as I started having some mild contractions mostly just a crampy feeling that wouldn't go away (which wasn't out of the norm for the last couple of nights so I didn't think much of it) I tossed and turned with cramps until about 8:00 am then I decided to go take a shower before the hubs got up for work. By the time I got out the shower the hubs was just waking up, at that time I fought back and fourth with myself on whether or not I should tell him I had been having contractions all morning because he was already upset that I was going to be going to the furthest mall around here just to help my mom and sister find dresses for a wedding. lol I decided I would tell him just in case this was the real thing and then later have to hear him complain that I never told him I was in labor haha... Of course he wasn't happy but I didn't want to stay stuck in the house uncomfortable and alone ...so under the conditions that my mother and sister would only take an hour or so to find dresses I headed to the mall!! At this point the contractions were still there but not close enough or strong enough... just plain annoying!!

We arrived at the mall at 10 am(?), got some breakfast from Burger King (french toast sticks, oj and hash browns... I only tell you this because it plays a part in the story later lmao) which I couldn't finish because of the cramping. Next stop Nordstrom, my mother starts to look for dresses and I start my search for a chair lol (luckily I found a chair right in the fitting room).... I plopped my ass right on the chair and started to time my contractions with my handy Contraction Master App on my iphone lol (there's an app for everything) boy do I love that app! As I was sitting in the fitting room with my iphone on top of my belly tapping start and stop on my phone my sister walks in and sit on the floor besides me and we begin to laugh and joke about how every time a contraction comes I "DIE" in my chair and then once it ends our conversation resume right were I paused it like nothing happened lmao !!! Anyways back to the whole reason we went to the mall ... My Mom comes in to try on dresses and the first dress she tries on is perfect 1 down 1 to go. As my mother checks out I begin to have stronger contractions so I walk away from the register and by the time I come back to meet up with my mom to hurry her up the lady ringer her out goes "aren't you guys kind of far away from home if she goes into labor" lol at that point it kind of hit me like oh shit even the lady at Nordstrom thinks it's a bad idea that I came haha. Next we are off to BEBE so the pickiest person can find a dress ... yup my sister lol well guess what 30 mins later she finds a dress.... the dress lords were definitely with us that day because that was the fastest my mother and sister have ever found a dress!!

We spent about a total of an hour and a half at the mall and headed back home at that point these contractions weren't stopping and were picking up... As I laid out on the back seat of my moms truck the pains quickly got worse and closer together (my app keeping close track of course) I text the hubs that I think by time I get home I was going to need to call the doctor and I emailed him my contraction chart lmfao so he could see how close together they were! I glanced over at my mother who was going 80 on the highway quietly panicking to her self and my sister knocked out in the front seat with her head toppling over every 2 seconds like a little a drowsy baby and couldn't help but laugh out loud!

Thanks to my mothers driving we arrived home fairly quickly and I found myself almost unable to move every time a contraction came at this point they 3-5 mins apart lasting about 1 min long. The hubs was already on his way home from work to be ready to take me to the hospital as soon as I got the heads up from the doctor ( who I still didn't call because the pains would take my breathe away). The hubs quickly gets home calls the doctors for me and then heads to our place to finish getting our things together and puts our bags in the car. The doctor calls back and says to head right to the hospital so we do just that, I arrive to the ER and get whisked away to Labor and Delivery just like the movies only difference is I wasn't screaming all the while leaving hubby behind trying to find the stork parking lmao!

37-38 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 31 pounds end weight at 139 (July 29th)

Maternity clothes: Maternity and they are getting tight!

Stretch marks: Nope, still praying they don't just pop up over night!

Dear baby mason

It's almost time for you to be an outside baby... Daddy and I are very excited for you to come into this world. We've always talked about what it would be like to have a baby join our lives for a while now... And now that you are days or weeks away (hopefully days) I can't even begin to imagine what it's going to really be like to have you in this world... Let alone fathom the idea of me being a mommy. I want to be the best mommy and give you everything in this world, I want you to be a happy baby and feel all the love from me and daddy ... I promise to tell you I love you everyday and give you 3 kisses (and many more) just like me and your daddy do!!! I promise to never let you down and fail at being your mommy, because I know what it's like to have an awesome mom and you deserve just that!!! I can't wait for you to come and steal my heart and make me smile, I won't know the feeling until you get here but God knows I can't I wait to love like I've never loved before !!! So baby Mason, MY BABY Mason whenever your ready please come (soon ...pretty please), I am very ready to meet you,hear your cry, hold you and take care of you!!!

Fall Trends

I know some of you are hating that I'm posting about fall in July but if you've been reading my blog since the beginning you already know fall is my favorite time of the year for fashion trends! So of course I've already got my eye out on all the trends that I think we will be seeing in the fall!

I'm thinking Bohemian, bell bottoms and cuff bracelets... oh my!!

( I am so glad that I won't be having a huge belly during my favorite season..

and not only do I get to shop for me but I get to shop for my Mason <3)

Daddy and Mommy <3

I know some of you are probably wondering what the hell happened to me and If I fell of the face of the earth... nope that's not it and nor did I have the baby lol.... I have been very busy with work and trying to tie up loose ends before maternity leave, I helped plan my baby shower and I had a dessert table that I had to design for a one year old birthday party (check dashing designs blog to see both parties)... along with that I am physically and mental exhausted and want this baby in my arms..... I want my body back...I want to be able to walk and breathe normally....I want to sleep on my belly.... I want to buy regular clothes... I want to lose this weight ... I just want to be done! I do enjoy being pregnant (some what) there are good days (months) and not so good days (months) but I am sure all worth it in the end and I know I will miss him kicking me like crazy, doing somersaults in my belly and just having him with be 24/7.

I know the last time I did this I was 29 weeks and only 7 months....

now I'm 36 weeks and 8 1/2 months, Shit time flies!!

How far along: 36 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I have now gained a total of 25 pounds... haaa the days I worried because I didn't think I would gain enough .. what was I thinking!

Maternity clothes: mostly maternity with the exception of some tops... but still in very small sizes

I'm ready for reallllll clothes....no more paneled pants

Stretch marks: Nope, still praying they don't just pop up over night!

Sleep: Still in love with Snoogle but not many peaceful nights... I wake up at least once a night to pee, I've been getting charlie horses and it hurts to turn over and switch sides

Best moment this week: ummm maybe my belly dropped some.... or it might just be wishful thinking

Gender: Blue

Craving: anything just feed me
What I miss: walking normally with out feeling like I'm going to die b/c I can't breathe

Weekly Wisdom: Drink your water!

Milestones: 36 weeks hoping for a July baby!

What's been happening since my last post-

We've moved into our new place and things have been good.. only compliant is the walk to the 3rd floor and the heat that rises into our place!

Little guy in a tie baby shower tuned out great, I had an amazing time with my family a friends and baby Mason got more gifts then any baby should ever need (okay Baby Mason does deserve everything... little stinker is going to be spoiled!)

I was in the hospital at 35 weeks because I couldn't breathe and my belly was tightening .... I was there for 4 hours hooked up to machines and IV. (I was having contractions, I was dehydrated and my asthma was flaring up) Baby was perfect!

Maternity Leave start July 28th at 4:30pm

Baptism preparation class will end this weekend and

we can baptism baby Mason when ever we are ready

Weekly Appointments and Internals begin next week!

Mason's Nursery Decor Update!

Mason's nursery is almost finished just a few more final touches and then all we need is baby!

I will make sure to take pictures of his room once completed but in the mean time I will tell you about some of the decor I purchased for his room. As you know know we have moved into another apartment so bye bye to the striped wall that we loved so much....but at least we still have Marina Isle on the walls lol. This room is much larger then Mason's original nursery so it would be way to much work to add stripes on the wall his crib is against.. but we will def. hanging some things to decorate that bare wall.

Here's to remind you what the bedding looks like!

I found this elephant "piggy" bank at target months ago on sale for $3 dollars and decided to paint it to match Mason's crib bedding.

Milestones: 3rd Trimester

Your Baby: Month 7

Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

To make a long story short we are moving out of our cute little townhouse and renting a very small 2 bedroom apartment to save money (a ton) and start looking for a house... it's bitter sweet because I know its the best things for us but at the same time baby M nursery was coming out so cute and it really makes me sad to leave! Sometimes you have to make sacrifices and I know this one will pay off! Have Faith!!

Spring Finds

I am totally in love with all the spring/summer trends... except its so hard to stay trendy when your pregnant and can't find styles you love in maternity wear or that fit you properly in regular clothes (just larger sizes) Most of what I have purchased lately hasn't been maternity I would much rather just buy a Medium or a Large in tops and buy accessories to try and pull together some trends. Here's what I've recently purchased(that I could find online). Oh and I just want to point out that H&M has been totally winning me over, I am finding that there clothing selections, shoes and accessories are far better then forever21 lately. Go H&M! :)

Speaking of trends... I am in love with feather extensions, so of course I got some. I don't have a picture of mine but here's what I'm talking about.

I don't know how I went from 23 weeks to 28 weeks.... time has been flying and with the warmer weather I find myself super busy. My iphone calendar looks like connect the dots with so many appointments, graduations, birthdays, meetings etc. but I am glad the weeks are flying by but I'm sure not getting any smaller lol with that said here's the bare belly pic from a couple of days ago.

The hubs and I finally started the nursery, after I had been bugging him to start moving his office stuff out so we could paint, he finally did. So the past couple of weekends we've started painting, putting up furniture and decorating a little.

The hubs Chocolate Brown walls are now Marina Isle

After all the walls were painted the hubs worked his butt off to put "Tropical Water" stripes on the wall where baby M crib is going.

Here is the outcome and what we have so far in the nursery.

The hubs really did an awesome job!

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained another 3 totaling 7 pounds

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Baby M has no idea what he is in for.... everyone is so very excited for his arrival and I sure can't wait to see his tiny face and kiss him all over from head to toe! It still hasn't hit me that I am going to be a mommy and that this is my baby, mommies little man, the one that's going to melt my heart and change my world, oh how I can't wait! Baby M is going to come into a world being loved so deeply by his mommy, daddy, aunties, grandparents and great grandparents and family. I am blessed to have a loving and supportive family and I am so excited to bring baby M into our family. I know that baby M doesn't know how much he is going to change our lives but I know he will, he will bring a whole new feeling of happiness to my parents, he'll bring back all the holiday spirit that went out the window as my sister and I got older, he'll bring back the feeling of togetherness in our families, he'll make my grandmother younger and stronger, he will make life worth living!!! It's amazing how one little life who we only see in photos and who mommy feels kicking like crazy can make such a difference to so many, you are so special baby M and so many of us just can't to see you!!!!!! <3

I can't even believe that the hubs and I have been married a year already, some how 6 months have flown by since I did my last monthly married updates and now I am here writing about it being a year! Sorry, it's just crazy to me that my wedding is a years memory already. So since it's been so long since I have done a married update I figured now would be a good time lol. So lets start with Miley, you remember her right well she's still the same little, crazy, hyper puppy whose gonna be celebrating her 1st birthday in April :)....Next is the hubs, he's is enjoying his job for the most part except the days he gets cursed at by customers on the phone but overall good! He's also enjoying every moment of seeing my belly grow, the baby kick and our monthly ob visit, he's is being great at rubbing every aching pain I have and just being there 100%. Now me, well somethings have definitely changed here lol there is an ever growing belly in front of me, some aches and pains but overall I can't complain. I am blessed with this amazing little life in my belly, an amazing husband and supportive family members who care about me. As for my job I am really enjoying my new position that I wrote about a while ago, I am glad that I jumped in and went for it. All is really well in the Mendenhall family <3

Hair Extensions

I have gotten a lot of questions from friends and co-workers about my clip-in hair extension after wearing them to an office party recently...I must say I really love them and the way they look! After reading tons of reviews and watching videos on youtube I purchased Remy hair extensions from Sally's a local beauty supply store for around $90 after tax on sale. Only thing was that the extensions came in black and chocolate brown which didn't match my hair, so what I did was buy chocolate brown and dyed them natural black/black to match my hair ( well I should mention my lovely husband dyed them for me using a box dye lol because I didn't think the smell would be safe for the baby). After DH dyed them they matched perfectly and I couldn't wait to use them...Since purchasing them I have worn them straight and curly and I really like how they look. So if you've been thinking about going long, just do it... it really is a lot of fun and they will make you feel sexy.

Remy comes in a large box with about 8 wefts which is more then enough... it come with 4 larger pieces and for smaller single clip pieces for the front of your hair. If you have no idea how to put them there are a lot of youtube videos that will teach you how to put them in! Happy Hair :)

P.S after purchasing mine I found Luxy Hair online and wished that I would have gotten those, I am satisfied with the Remy hair but those sisters really have me sold on Luxy Hair. Maybe next time!

Okay this sound really silly but I am really on the verge of tears because I really want to go to Disney World before the baby comes and be in the sun eating ALL grilled cheeses, french fries, waffles, bacon, home fries that I've ever wanted all day long!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st Trimester Recap

Ugh where do I start, it hasn't been what I expected but really what should have I expected seeing that this is the first time I've ever been pregnant lol. This first trimester definitely has me and everything feeling really different. I knew that whenever I'd get pregnant that I wouldn't be one of those people who felt great because I'm always sick and my body is sensitive to change... but I wasn't prepared to be constantly nauseous and gagging from steaming showers, brushing my teeth, stinky smells (that I only smell), food cooking, the thought of taking my prenatal or just from going from the warmth out to the cold ahh all because my baby is growing lol .... but that's not all, I've been really hungry but I never know what I want to eat, always out of breathe, I'm having a hard time staying awake and I go to sleep around 8-9pm everyday but toss and turn all night because my back has been killing already (due to my tilted uterus that I just found out about), once I'm up the cycle starts over.

What I've been craving?
Anything breakfast at any time of the day (yum), OJ, Lemonade, Carbs, Cupcakes, Steak and Cheese and Salad.

I also ate my first fast food hamburger ever.... I have never liked hamburger but man it was yummy and I'm sure that wont be my last :)

What I can't wait for?
I can't wait to get a burst of energy back, not be nauseous, feel the baby move and officially find out what I'm having ( although I know and the ultrasound tech gave her early guess and it matched my gut feeling lol I want to know 100% so I can go crazy and by my baby cute things)

How many doctors visit so far?
I've had 3 ob visit and one visit to the hospital for the downs test, everything looks great :)

I am returning and promising you a lot more post! Okay, so I started writing this post about 2 months ago so that I could remember all the details so I could share them with you! So read on :)

OMG, BFP!

December 15th, 2010

I am in total and complete shock! Okay for those of you who have no idea what BFP means... well I will explain! It means Big Fat Positive (pregnancy test of course)! The hubs and I have been secretly trying to conceive for about 5 months now... We let it take its course and when God thought we were ready he would bless us with a baby, but this came as a complete shock!!!! I had been feeling nauseous for about a week and a half but wasn't sure from what, so I let it go and thought let me just wait and see if aunt flow comes.... well as you might guess aunt flow never showed, so then I thought well lets just wait and see if maybe stress was making her late... well I waited 5 days already and thought I'll give it until Friday (7 days) and then I'd have no choice but to take a test. Well of course I couldn't wait for another 2 days seeing that I really had no signs that aunt flow would show her face except a few cramps here and there. So, I kept it in the back of my head....

So Wednesday morning (3:45am) I woke up because I had fallen asleep much earlier then usual that night like 8:30pm ... So I begin playing Doodle fit on my phone trying to get past the level that I had been playing before I has fallen asleep but I still couldn't pass it, so I put the phone down and I just laid there thinking hmmmm should I creep out of bed now and sneak into the bathroom and dare take this test at what now was probably 4:00 am... back and fourth in my head I kept thinking do it... no wait until Friday.. NO DO IT NOW! LOL So tip-toed out the room trying not to wake the hubs, I open the door and saw the hubs move so I gently said I have to go pee so that he wouldn't get up to check on me because he know I wasn't feeling good. I was safely went into the bathroom took out a box of test out from under the sink ...pulled one out struggling to open it and trying to hold in my pee at the same time... finally got it open and peed on the stick and sat it on the sink! Ugh I sat there waiting there as the little hourglass kept flashing and thought okay I know it's not going to say that I am pregnant and then I'll just go back to bed... then it hit me and I prayed to God and said God what ever it reads I know it's for a reason and everything will be fine! So I turned my head knowing that it would read NOT PREGNANT... to find it reading PREGNANT! The next thing that came out of my mouth was HOLY SHIT I'M PREGNANT I covered my face and began to cry and laugh at the same time while I continued to say HOLY SHIT! lol My next thought was should I tell the hubs now, should I think of a cool way to surprise him later that day or should I wait until Christmas !!! Hell no right now is the best time lol ( remember it's 4 something in the morning) so I creep out of the bathroom pee stick in hand I walked into the room as soon as I opened the door the hubs asked me if I was feeling of... I said yeah I'm fine but can I turn the light on, he says sure. I turn the light on and then slowly crawl into bed put the pee stick right in his face and waited for him to open his tightly sealed eyes... he slowly opened one and then the other and said what's this! He looked up at me and said your pregnant? I said yup... so he opens his arms and we hugged and began to cry tear of joy!!!! We both laid there in total shock thinking out loud about what's going to happen next!!

We're having a BABY!

Only 15 days until Christmas my favorite time of the year, and this year I am more excited because the hubs and I are hosting x-mas eve! We've got our tree ready, Christmas music playing, stockings up and party supplies on hand! lol I must admit I am usually done with Christmas shopping by now but this year I haven't even begun... so tomorrow I have off and I am heading out to by every ones gifts! It going to be a much need retail therapy session... although I am not buying anything for myself I still enjoy it!

Vegas after all!

Just when I thought I wasn't going to Vegas I decided F it and I booked my flight on a Thursday night and left Friday night and arrived at Vegas at 12:00 am just in time for the party! It was a quick weekend trip but my husband and I really had a good time away from everything back home! My sister, her BF and her friends left to Vegas the day before, we had originally planned on taking the trip with them but b/c the hubs started the new job we decided not to go.... but last min I just couldn't resist and we booked our flight, packed our bags and off we went!!!!!!!!

Pure night club, Fashion show mall, Restaurants, Zumanity (MUST SEE), Casinos and everything fun!

Happy Halloween everyone, who's dressing up? I think this is the first time in 4 years that I wont be dressing up and luckily I didn't have plans to go out because my niece has arrived...she was born on October 28th the day after my moms birthday at 8:10pm, weighing in at 5lbs 8oz! Shes tiny and I can't wait to see her tiny face and hold her... I will be heading to New Jersey tonight and staying until tomorrow afternoon to go meet my sweet Carly !

I haven't even meet her yet and she's stolen my heart!!!!!!!!!!

I know I've been a bad blogger, but I just haven't been able to find time to get on here to write daily!!! With that said here is my reason why I've been working more late nights and I have taken on a new position at my job as the new professional relation coordinator and have been trying to learn the ropes, So now not only do I have a new job but the hubs is starting his new job on November 1st. I'm really excited for the both of us b/c we always strive for the best!

It took a lot of thought and convincing for me to finally yes to my new position because I am my worst critic....I always want to be professional, well spoken and carry myself as an educated Puerto Rican women......

Sooooooo, I knew exactly who I needed to speak with to help me make up my mind! That would be my mom, the most amazing women I know, she knows every thing about me and what happens in my life (she's the only female I trust)so I knew we needed to have mommy and daughter meeting lol asap! I told her how I felt about taking the position and my concerns..... the words that came out of her mouth were exactly what I needed to hear, that no one else would ever say. Her words of encouragement never fail to make you feel anything less then invincible! I knew I just had to do it, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain! :) love you mom !

P.S The hubs and I got matching tattoos (6 months late but, we got them)

So Friday the 15th was the hubs birthday, we enjoyed a long day just him and I. The hubs couldn't decide what he wanted to do for his birthday so we kind of a just winged it and went to NY and ate at the melting pot (his first time). It was very chilled and laid back... it was just nice to spend time with him <3

6 months married !!!

Wow, I can't believe a half a year has flown by so quickly. The hubs and I sat in our living room yesterday and laughed about how fast that flew by. It feels like we literally just got married and in another 6 months we will be married for the big 1 year! I am so happy and excited about how everything has been coming along. With that said I know I completely forgot to do my 5 months post so I will update you on everything. As far as myself everything is good, Dashing Designs and Events is definitely up and running and I am so excited for this new venture! If you haven't already started follow Dashing Designs blog make sure to go over and follow! I have more exciting new guys......Hubby has two jobs lined up and everything is looking up for him and it's about damn time I can't even express how excited we are! Now on to my love Miley, what can I say, she has officially graduated puppy pre-K and learned almost NOTHING.... haha I love my darn pup! I'll make sure to leave you a picture to show you how big shes gotten! Most of you may not know what a (pre)baby bucket list is but it's just like a regular bucket list (a list) of the things you want to do before you die... of course these are things I want to do before I have a child. Of course if baby comes and I don't finish I can always work on them later... but I would like to at least try to conquer some of the things I've needed to work on and now is really a great time to do these things.

I feel like I am abandoning my blog :/ Shame on me! Lately, I've been taking the time out to do tons of research, reading and surfing the web to get a better understanding about event planning and the business aspect of it. I have gained a lot of useful information from this book I am currently reading called How To Start A Home-Based Event Planning Business, by Jill Moran. Man do I have a lot to do but like Jill says, If you don't set goals, You'll never reach them! So I am setting them in stone.

Amongst all of the other thing I have to begin doing, I have to start marketing myself. I am going to need your help... from business names, too colors, too spreading the word!

Right now, I would like to start with some marketing things. If you don't remember I graduated with my Bachelors in Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design... so I am gonna use what I have learned to my advantage and begin with Web Design, Logo Design, Business Cards, Letter Heads Etc. I have a lot of work ahead of me but I'm going to need your input with some things!

As I mentioned in one of my very first post, I was looking to start my own business. So I have decided to start off by doing custom dessert bars for any occasion. My first candy bar I created was for my engagement party and since then I did both my bridal shower and wedding and I enjoyed doing them all. So now I would love to start creating dessert bars for each and every one of you and anyone who would give me the pleasure in creating one for there event. These sweet dessert bars are not your typical dessert bars, I custom design each bar to your liking and theme! <3

Right now I am working on a Wizards of Waverly Place themed dessert table for a birthday party. I have been working on Thank You Tags, Happy Birthday Banner, Candy Labels and Goodie Bags. Right now I've been thinking about a few things...

How is Miley going to do in Puppy Pre School this week? And How I'm gonna miss her first class :/

To Cut or Not ? I've been in the mood to cut my hair short again or something like the picture below. But then I think about how much I really like to curl my hair when I go out and I'm not over it completely! But really most of the time its in a side braid or dumb pony tail which I hate!! Ugh decisions decisions lol

I've also been thinking about going back to school.. I am looking into a program at a local University for Fashion Merchandising and Marketing! I really need to figure where I want to be in my life and in which direction I want my career to go, I can't just sit around a complain but not do anything about it! So I'm gonna do something about it. lol

I can't believe I forgot my four months married post... Man I must be busy lol

Well it's been pretty busy, this past weekend the hubs and I hosted our very first BBQ and it went very well. Everyone finally got to see our place, that we put together so nicely... ( I know I have to show new pics now that all the decor is done) I love it its so cozy and homey just like I wanted! :) Well the hubs and I have already been in our place over a month and it's been great just us two hanging out and spending alone time together! Oh and Miley, she hasn't really gotten any better with nipping but she does know how to SIT!!!!! Love It! My little baby has gotten so big and it makes me sad that she doesn't have that puppy face anymore but her face is still just as cute! Well the Mendenhalls are great! Hope everyone is doing just as good !

I just love spending time with the hubs because him and I never really get a whole lot of QT because he works nights and I work during the day! It hasn't really been an issue other then him and I only being able to see each other a couple hours a day. So when we have a weekend together we try to spend as much time as we can together and try to do as much as possible. This past weekend was one of his weekends off were we could actually relax since we moved into our place. We already had a prior commitment to go to a party on Saturday but we left Sunday just for the two of us. It was hubs idea to make Sunday a Lazy Sunday by watching movies all day and making homemade pizza :)...we tried to sleep as late as Miley would let us, which really wasn't late at all something like 6:30-7:00 am sounds about right. Darn Dog!!!!!!!! Hubs went to the grocery store picked up something things and came back home Pizza dough and 3 movies. Around noon we started preparing our pizzas and about an hour later we enjoyed them and started watching our movies! It was the most relaxing Sunday him and I have had in a long time and I loved it! <3

As I mentioned before my brother and his wife are expecting their first child. At first the both of them agreed not to find out the sex of the baby ... They were pretty set on not finding out and we were kind of bummed lol but respected there decision. Well I guess they were anxious and couldn't not wait any longer (I was elated to find out they gave in)... So today they went for an ultrasound to find out !!!!! And it's a GIRL!!! Which I'm super excited about because who doesn't love a little princess !!! Hopefully soon Carley Lynn will have a cousin lol !!! Baby fever is running wild in the Mendenhall house lol !!! I guess you'll just have to keep reading to find out if we have any exciting news !!! Okay not just yet but we will surprise you all and catch you off guard!!

Move in this weekend went smooth, almost everything is set and I love it! Can you believe how fast this month flew by? I am so excited that we will be getting the keys to our place on Thursday and the move starts. Although, my long holiday weekend is going to be busy and exhausting I am so happy to be moving into our place just the hubs me and our Miley.

Btw, Miley has the hubs and I on our toes.... ugh all she does is pee, poop and bite! NO Good.... it's been pretty tough with so many people in our house all trying to train her there way... so it will be nice to get in our place and set her butt straight lol... I know what your thinking but don't make a face unless you've tried it! So for my birthday the hubs got me Tory Burch flats, a dozen chocolate covered roses delivered to my job. SO SWEET!

Ok, I'll get to the good news! Yesterday the hubs and I went to the mall to do some shopping and decided that we would go look at puppies ...we saw some really cute puppies but none that I loved but it did gave me a bright idea ....that today we were going to go home with one! So we went to another local pet store that we knew would have the cutest puppies because they always did and we found our PUPPY and took her right home!!!!

Here is our green eyed princess Miley!!!!!!!!!! She is just too sweet ... all she does is sleep, eat, pee and poop!!!!!! Oh and a little nipping! These pictures do not do her justice...you have to see her!!!! I'll update with better pictures as we go!

Game 5

Lakers vs Celtics

Okay, so I am officially a bad luck charm when it comes to the Lakers !!! I thought that the curse was only when I watched the games at home !! Lmao apparently NOT !!!!

Some of you may already know I was at game 5 of the NBA finals in Boston, rooting for the Lakers! haha Yes, the Celtic fan were NOT happy to see us or hear us rooting for their rival team, but we knew what we were in for. Although, the Lakers lost ;( the game was fun... but it would have been way better to shut those Celtics fans up... but we will!!!!!! There are two games left and we are taking it!

Back to Celtic fans... man they are harsh. The chants are pretty mean and the comments are just as bad lmao... for example, when Odom took his free throw shots the whole stadium chants "Ugly Sister, Ugly Sister, Ugly Sister" lmfao Who says that ? Why would you refer to some ones wife as the ugly sister? Pretty harsh! But what I will say is that I could feel how much these people loved their team because the energy was CRAZY!

Although there were only a few Lakers fans in the lions den, they also showed their love for there team and made it known!! Including the hub...I was so nerves because I knew what we were getting into being a Lakers fan in the Celtic stadium but my husband of course had to make it worse by wearing this shirt!!!!!!!!!!!

We got some mixed reviews from the Celtics fans ...some giving the hubs props for having the balls to were it. Some warned him not to go into the lions den with that shirt. And then there were the angry angry ones who could have killed him for wearing it. Hey he had to make a statement seeing that there weren't many Lakers fans and he sure did! What can I say he is a die hard fan!!!!!<3

So on to the important stuff lmao my outfit lol ! I loved it ! So I didn't wear either of the outfits I posted before because I made a last minute change. I'm glad I did because the weather wasn't that great.

I have been anxiously waiting to hear about the iPhone 4 and it's release date. I have been reading a live blog for the last two hours on macrumorslive.com of the WWDC today. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wishing I could actually hear or watch what Steve Jobs what introducing...but macrumorslive.com did a good job of keeping an min by min update of the conference. Here is a brief overview on when the phone is available -----So iPhone 4 will be released on June 24th and can be pre-ordered starting June 15th! So I'm saving up some $$$ and pre-ordering that baby on June 15th... I have the first generation iphone since it came out so its def time for me to upgrade and it was definitely worth the wait. iPhone for will start at $199 for 16 GB or $299 for 23GB. It will come in either black or white. Also AT&T will allow up to 6 months of early eligibility for an iPhone 4. For more info on the phone you can go to apple.com and I am sure tons will show up.
